Will a Tasco red dot last long on a 12g?

My new shotgun has a rail on top. Thinking of picking one up for ####s and giggles. Just wondering if it'll even hold up? For $50 I don't imagine it is too durable.

I've seen it done but can't imagine it would last long...

I owned that $50 dot from walmart for about an hour before I went back to return it, total junk.

Ok then on to my next question. What will stand up to a 12g? Around $200 max?

I have used a tasco pro point and a one of the cheap knockoff aimpoints on a couple of my guns.Both held up quite well after 3-400rnds.
