will a vx-3 2.5-8x36 fit on browning blr long action

I am looking at changing scopes on my browning blr 7mm rem mag long action to something lighter as I hunt in northern Saskatchewan for elk/moose with it and in the prairies with it but often on foot. Wondering if the vx-3 2.5-8x36mm will fit on the long action? Or open to other suggestions for a lighter scope with good glass and good low light performance. thanks

The scope tube mounting space is 5 1/8" total. Measure your max ring length, from back of back ring to front of front ring, if it is 5 1/16" total max, you are good.

after it fits your rings it still has to fit you in order to be in a comfortable shooting position, which depends on the scope's eye relief. You don't want to be in the situation where you have to pull your head forward to get a good sight picture. I have this problem with a Bushnell on a particular rifle.

Thanks guys. I was also thinking that too. If it will just fit and no room for eye relief adjustment I won't go with it and figure out something else lightweight

You can also get extended bases and or rings that will allow most scopes to fit on long actions. Phil.

With the correct rings and bases, you can mount almost any scope to any rifle.

I had one mounted in talleys on my 358 win BLR. Not sure of frame length difference between the LA and short.
