Will closing the gaz valve make it more accurate.....

In develloping a load for my Ruger SR762 ( to come) for the range, will shutting of the gaz valve will permit more accurate grouping or it will make no difference, i would think it could be more like a bolt action since there will be no bolt mouvement, just asking for the ones who tried it... JP.

Though not the rifle you're asking about, I absolutely get better grouping with my XCR, sans gaz.

So this could be used as a procedure to devellop the most accurate load then it could be used on a regular setting once you rolled the perfect one, still the groups will open up but but basicly with the best load available... JP.

Yes but, the load will only preform as tested. As soon as you change the gas setting you're adding moving parts, and more important, you're changing velocity.

So opening up the valve, will change the group ( for the worst) but from there, adjustments on the basic reload could be made for an open valve and maybe rethigthened the groups... There is an another dimension reloading for a gaz rifle... JP.

Turning the gas on changes the harmonics, as you've got the rod/piston whacking the bolt carrier and imparting stresses to the barrel that it otherwise wouldn't see.
And barrel harmonics are the whole reason we reload for accuracy.
