Question; I just came across a thread on Isaphore 2A1 rifles, they are an Indian manufactured version of the Lee Enfield but specifically designed for 7.62x51 NATO.
Q; Would these magazines fit the M1A like the impossible to find AIA Australian International Arms??
Does anyone know?? Has anyone tried this?

They wont fit. IIRC the 2A1 use the same magazine latching system as the SMLE No.1 Mk.III .303 British. So if you have an old No.1 mag laying around, give it a shot and let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for the confirmation!! Has anyone else got any suggestions on ways to get around the ridiculous 5 round restriction?? AIA mags can't be found anywhere...

Why waste money developing an pistol M14. I say we pool our money and re-invest it into getting AIA up and running again. Providing they agree to design and ship their rifles with a 20rnd magazine. :)

I would bet that if the owner of AIA whoever he is knew how much he would make from mag sales alone over here he would get the ball rolling again... We only need a couple of rifles to be produced and a magazine free flow would result!!

Not exactly... look at the AR pistols.

Yes. I get it. I have several LAR and ATRS pistol mags.

There is no M14 pistol. So in that regard pistol mags for the M14 based pistol that doesn't exist is mute.

There are 308 based manual action guns, which are a better platform than pistols as manual action rifles have no limit.

No limit, like mag threads on CGN.

We are talking about developing a pistol. We know there is none right know. We are speaking in a "What if?" manner. Just like at some point there was no AR pistol, then someone went "What if?" then boom. Just so we know what we are talking about here.

Right. Again, rifles already exist with magazines that have no limit that happen to fit in the M14.

Pistol is still limited. To plan a pistol is limiting the concept. The AIA Enfield is the route to go.

Making a AR bolt action is kinda dumb, but the pistol concept works.

No real wonder. Mag limits are pretty straight forward in RCMP Bulletin 72.

The bigger what if, is if people spent all this energy in advocating for change rather than settling for less.

Yeah, we need to spend our efforts on getting rid of our illogical and draconian firearms laws. They need to go, period.

I hate being the debbie downer, but there is a fat chance of that happening. That 5 round limit makes people FEEL safe. It'll be hard to get rid of. The best way is to continue introduce new people into the sport and explain to them that rivets can be drilled out. Maybe one day, it'll change.
