Will a scope with a 30mm tube work with 1" scope rings?
The difference is .1811 inches or do they have to be bang on?

Helluva recovery there mate

Doing that is a perfect way to wreck your scope and your rings. You can use 30mm rings on a 1" scope, but this requires the use of ring bushings/reducers.

No not without a space that will allow movement with recoil
So unless it is a 22 fix it now rather than waste a outing

Just heat the rings cherry red with a torch and put the scope in the freezer. After this, you just have to slame the scope in the rings (very very hard, preferably with a BIG hammer) and it will be press fit.....forever!!
