I've got all these LAR 10rd mags from my AR so I'm wondering if they'd function in a Ruger Mini-14.
Will my (legal) LAR15 Pistol mags work in a Mini-14 .223?

It's a pity they don't fit, otherwise I'd have a Mini. I just get tired of reloading the same 5rd mag over and over again, one cartridge at a time. It's either that or purchase four more mags to cram into your pockets.
Of course, one of the pros of the Mini is that it's not restricted, which means you can take it to the woods with you, unlike the AR which only sees the light of day at the target range.
I like the Ruger Gunsight Scout as well. Love how that Mauser-style bolt shines. Now that has a magazine I could live with!
Too bad it's only available in .308.

Sell the mini and get an xcr. They take the ar mags, imo they handle better as well and are reasonable for accuracy. Sweet rig. A little over priced, but then again so is the mini.

its a completely different animal.
i have both.
where the AR mags just go straight up into the magwell like a pistol mag the Mini mags lever in front to back once you catch the front into a pin that is there.
not surprising they (the Mini 14 mags) are the same as the M14 (M305) mags which the gun was based on (but in a different cal.)

I know. I saw it in their US catalogue but have not found one in Canada. That's why I said "...only available in ..."
Can you tell me how to find one in .223?

Ach, that's not for me. I've already got an AR and an M-14.
This XCR reminds me of something my friend got in .308 recently for about 750 dollars.
I'm sure these XCRs are fine weapons, but as somebody remarked, they're a bit pricey.
