Will other brands of dies fit my lee single stage press??

I have a lee reloading kit (the one with all the stuff you need to start reloading), and it has worked out for me so far, I am very happy with all my range results.
I live in yellowknife, NWT, so my only options for buying dies for other calibers I wish to start loading is via online purchases. I just dont know if dies from makers like dillon or RCBS will be compatible with my Lee press??
I have seen many good deals on Die sets from other makers, and have balked at them because I was unsure of compatibility issues. I would like to know if I can buy other die sets from other makers just to open up my options for reloading on this Lee challenger press. (at least until I get much better at reloading and get a better press, then the dies can be kept and used with the RCBS press I get in the future.)

Dies are generally all interchangeable, the only thing is, you'll need to buy the proper sized shell holder with other dies, Lee dies come with the shellholder!

I got the set of 11 shell holders with the kit for almost any caliber out there, I assume these will be OK??

there are some dies that will need an adapter, but it is
doubtful you will ever need one.

The only propietary dies that I've run across are the Dillon dies for their Square Deal B pistol press. Pretty much verything else is standard and interchangeable. Lee carbide dies are a great deal and RCBS are excellent, as well.

The shellholders you have,are they for the Lee priming tool only?what Punkrockboy is refering to is the press shell holders,which you will also have to order seperate with RCBS dies and others.You can use your Lee primer tool shell holder list to compare which Lee shell holders you already own will work for other caliber dies you intend to buy.

Standard dies are 7/8" x 14 thread.

The lyman nutcracker loading tool, uses small dies that won't fit standard presses, and there is at least one regular press designed for these extra small dies.
Most others as already said, are 7/8 X 14 thread, and work fine.
For the most part, you can use lee shell holders with other brands and get away with it.
However, on rare occasion, you might find the don't let you push the shoulder back enough, resulting in a tight fit in the chamber..
