I read somewhere that the TOZ-78 has a semi-match chamber, and high velocity ammunition like Thunderbolts or Stingers will damage the chamber. Is this true? And if it happens, how would you know?
If you can close the bolt on a Stinger without any resistance then it shouldn't be a problem. I bought 2 when they were on sale for $100, one for my brother. His will eat a stinger, mine won't. The problem comes when you jam the case mouth into the rifling in a short chambered rifle.....
It all depends on the chamber type. Like Hitzy said, it it will fit in the chamber easily, witout having to engage into the riflling it should be fine, if not, don't fire it. My 10/22 with a GM barrel (bentz chamber) won't take stingers.
