Will Tavor and AR-15 likely to be effected by C-71?

Just acquired a tavor myself....the only problem I see here is the odd shape and how large the PVP pipe needs to be.....my 858s fit in so nice.....not so much the tavor

PVP? Did you mean PVC?

No need to bury something they don't know you have unless they start going door to door searching every house. I think we're a long way away from that day though.

Just skipped right to the end, just to say what a dumb post.

Waa waa, whine, sniffle, cry.... will they ban my leaver action, will they ban me from thinking about an ar-15, will they ban me from wearing leopard print underwear?

Enough with these pointless posts already!
Can't we just talk about guns rather than citing panic!?

I miss the good old days, reading about guns on this forum

Agree, just buy what you want while you can. No sense worrying about what hasn't happened yet.
Sign the petitions, write your MP and enjoy your days off of work shooting your guns for as long as they let you.
Even if they do prohib these it's not like you're going to lose your life savings, a couple thousand dollars worth of rifles should be just enough incentive to get you active fighting this instead of sitting quietly waiting to see how it plays out.

I prefer the Tavor slightly more too.
Aesthetically, I find it better, and there seems to be more options for customization.
I threw an aftermarket forend and the podium bipod on mine. Can change the top rail too.
I kinda like the charging handle further up too, rubs less when slung. The only thing I like better on the X95 is the mag release but that's about it.

I like shooting my X95 more--just seems more comfortable to me (probably the weight, with the X95 a little leaner). But I totally agree, I have more hardware on my Tavor and actually like the button placement better. I can swap mags much more easily in my Tar 21 than the X95, but perhaps that is because I've had that longer and have more range time with it. The Tavor seems a mite more accurate too, but that is just my opinion and I haven't tested the two side by side to test it.

Either way, can't go wrong. Beautiful firearms to shoot (even if ugly as sin!)

I think the X95 is actually a few ounces heavier than a stock Tavor. Weight is closer to the center though with the Tavor a bit further back.
And yeah, many range reports put the Tavor a little bit ahead of the X95 in the accuracy department.
I still want to pick up an X95 at some point though.

Pretty soon you will not be able to buy either - you know it's true. Tavor x95 xcr vz 58 ect get them now boys, not at the expense of feeding your family though :) and the x 95 is better .... trigger

Thanks for the fear mongering! Lol.....Tavors and ARs just dropped to 1/2 price on EE.....that damn 12.9 class we dont know what's for

The x95 is heavier. It is deceptive because it looks smaller. I prefer the Tavor over the X95. The only advantage the 95 has over the Tavor is the mag release imo.

The charging handle is closer to centre mass, the trigger is half the weight, it has More rails - might not matter, comes with more places to attached quick detach sling swivels, better mag release.

if I owned an x95 I would not trade for a Tavor because it would cost me 1000$ more to get it to the same level as the x95.
They are selling used for about the same price now so take your pick.

My point is - buy a non restricted shtf rifle and a lower receiver - just don't sell your kids food to do it

The charging handle [is better because] is closer to centre mass, better mag release.

I would pretty strongly disagree with both of these.

The x95 trigger is better but I personally see nothing wrong with the Tavor stock trigger. I bought a used TAR21 to use the savings to buy a Giessele, but ended up buying ammo instead because I decided I didnt need it.

I don't have a PEQ or a bipod or any other expensive toys, just a sight and a light, so I was actually chopping my top rail because I felt I had TOO MUCH rail haha. Threw on an IDF front sight post and it's noticeably lighter and less bulky.
Everything I've seen indicates that the Tavor is the more accurate infantry rifle, whereas the X95 is more like a hi-speed doorkicker carbine. Use that framework to decide which is better for you!

I would also agree that the Tavor is more accurate according to many and most notably Tim from the military arms Chanel, but only by 1/2" give or take.
Given the choice I would choose the x95 simply because it shoots the 3 moa military standard - so good for shtf no problem. If I bought the Tavor I would have to upgrade it and then it would end up costing me a crap ton ! I said 1000$ lol I was wrong more like 1800$ or more.

Both fantasic rifles for Canadians - non restricted :) but if it were legal I would trade for a 2000$ ar or a mak 90 ak buuut it's not possible.
