Williams firesight on SKS - okay to have the front post above centre?

The way I use my Williams firesight rear, is to remove the insert so the hole is bigger and line up the hole with the front hood so that they overlap each other, and then aim the top of the front post. The front post has to be set higher because the rear sight cannot be lowered beyond a certain point. Therefore if I line up the rear sight to overlap the hood, the front post is not at the centre but above the centre of the rear sight hole.

Since I cannot adjust the rear sight any lower, if I were to lower the front sight post to the centre of the rear sight hole, then my POI will be several inches higher at 50 yards.

Is it okay to have my front post above centre in the rear sight hole? Should I just NOT line up the rear hole with the front hood (ignore it) and just line up the front post with the centre of the rear hole? What do you think?

Okay, I'm going to post a picture since I am guessing people don't understand what I'm saying:

The above picture shows something similar to what I see through my rear sight except:
1) the front hood perfectly lines up with the rear hole (unlike the picture where the front hood has a smaller diameter)
2) the front post is taller than centre (I had to do this because the rear sight cannot lower any further - if I lower the front post to the centre it will shoot several inches too high)

My question:
Which is better:
1) my current setting; line up the front hood with the rear hole, and then aim the top of the front post (which is higher than centre)
2) ignore the front hood, and just line up the front post with the centre rear hole. I would then see the front hood in a way that is distracting (because it doesn't line up with the rear hole any more)

Sight in the way that is comfortable and viable for you. With non-adjustable front and rear (for differant ranges) you have to learn where the rifle naturally wants to shoot. If a larger rear apeture alaigned with the front hood works for you, then it works for you.

It looks good for short range fast target acquisition but don't be looking for longer range accuracy/consistency.

I tried the firesight front and rear even using smaller apetures and wasn't happy. Apeture works best with the rear closer to the eye.
But again, if it works for you go for it you are not being tested here.
