Hey guys,

I just bought a wicked Marlin 1895GS and am looking for advise on what sight system to go with. I have the Williams FP on my Marlin 336SS and it works great. I've heard guys talk about the XS Ghost Rings setup and might give it a try. The XS seems easier to install and sleeker. What do you think? Who has the best prices?

Ive had both on various marlins, Without a doubt the XS is the better setup , (steel not aluminum )and if you pop the extra cash for the rear sight with the protective ears its damn near bulletproof. I use this on my 1895 and am very happy with it.

I'm glad for this info as well. I was out at the range yesterday with my new Guide Gun, and I must say the iron sights are terrible. My corrected eyesight is better than 20/20, and I was having trouble with these at 50yds.

I was thinking of the XS setup, but will look at the Williams as well.

On another note, with the ported barrel and Limb Saver recoil pad, the recoil really isn't much different from my 30-06...

The XS sights are fantastic. However, I found the front blade a bit thick which takes up alot of the targer at 100 yards. However, it's still plenty accurate, I was getting about 2MOA but that was not serious bench shooting, it was simply off the hood of my pickup.

I opted for the "earless" rear sight, and it's still bullet proof. It's plenty strong enough as is. You will not be sorry with this setup.
