Williams front site - Marlin 1895

Anybody find that that only way to install the Williams front sight is to file it down until it fits into the dovetail ? I guess they make it oversize so that it fits dovetails that are a little oversize ?

It should fit snugly, and may require tapping with a brass punch. No filing should be required if it is the correct piece.
