Williams WGRS-RU22 Peep Sight Set

This one is specifically for the Ruger 10/22 and mounts on the receiver to the rear drilled and tapped holes. They sell it as a set with the .570 front sight or without it. The packaging says “may need the .570 sight.” So I was wondering if anyone here has experience with leaving the factory front sight on and just buying the rear peep sight.

Oops, I was thinking of the FP series sights, but I did try the WGRS one too at one time. I think you could get away without the high front sight at 50 yds but maybe not at 25 yd. The way the sight is designed it curls down the back of the receiver a bit so you can get it lower as you move it back.
I can't remember which front sight I used with the WGRS.
I wasn't that happy with the WGRS as it is awkward to adjust unless you are going to fix it in one place and leave it.
Personally I don't like the firesights.
As far as Williams sights go I think the best would be the side mounted FP with target knobs as it has the best range of adjustment. I didn't go that route as I didn't want to drill and tap my early 1968 receiver.

Yea this peep sight isn’t intended to be adjusted a lot. I just hated the factory rear sight so I decided to upgrade. I want it sighted at 50 and for it to shoot a little bit high at 25. I wanted the HiViz but then saw they’re the same s**ty design as the factory Lyman flip down sight but with fiber optic.
