G'day gents. This isn't really the forum I hang out on, but thought I'd share this video I found on youtube.

Looks like some time in the 80s or 90s this guy builds a flintlock rifle out of nothing but bulk iron, wood, brass and steel. I enjoyed watching :)

This film is from the 60's. I was around 15-16 when I watched it for the first time (1968-1969) and to say I was impressed is an understatement. It was an inspiration for me to see what Wally Gusler could do with primitive tools and it was after that when I stopped whining over my lack of machinery and buckled down to learn to use the tools I had.
I too just recently found the film on youtube and although it was past bedtime I settled down to watch it for the first time in over 40 yrs. Amazingly enough my memories of it were reasonably accurate. As stated earlier it made a great impression on me.

Some of the stuff he did were absolutly cool. i love the patch box he made. the hidden button is just cool.

Very good video, interesting to see how the rifles were made before "Modern techniques". I was complaining about filing an extractor to shape, then I saw this guy work.
