Wilson Combat - opinions?

I got to handle a Wilson Combat Professional at the Calgary gun show. I must say, the fit and finish seemed top notch. I have the cash, but I am really wavering at the price..... it was $2785!!! Is this money well spent for a high end 1911? Or, would I be better off spending $1000 less on a nice single stack STI (Lawman, rangemaster, legacy, etc)?

Also considering the Kimber Super Match II. Cheaper than the Wilson by about $700.

Stick with the Wilson or STI. I've had more than enough issues with Kimber 1911's. Yes, that is plural, more than 1 Kimber.

Does Kimber have a generally lower reputation for reliability than the other manufacturers? I was also thinking about an STI U.S.P.S.A single-stack.

What about dealer support for problematic Kimbers? Is TSE easy to deal with? Had a problem with an STI in the past, and Sean at Freedom Ventures took care of it right away - no hassles, no problems, just royal treatment.

It certainly appears this way from all the discussions of Kimber-related malfunction I've come across on the net.

TSE will do what they can, but I got little to no support from Kimber direct. I'm not the only one that got stuck with a lemon. But then again, there are those that got a fine firearm, unfortunately for me, I didn't. STI on the other hand (from personal experience) has a much better fit, finish and accuracy.
