My Win 1400 skeet gun was not used for a couple years. After storage I now find the bolt will not open. I think I remember reading years ago that this can happen with this model. Something to do with plastic magazine tube (or something?) The gun fits me well and I do enjoy shooting it.

Start by removing the mag cap and spring, reinstall the mag cap and with your finger on the bolt release and the other on the fore end, hit the floor with the buttstock to try to release the bolt.

Remove the pin securing the trigger group. This usually allows the action to unlock the rotary bolt and be opened. Pulling the trigger will do the same thing. Make sure it is not loaded. I don't believe that the plastic feed throat will have anything to do with this condition. re pete may be onto something with a seized piston in the mag tube. Keep us posted we are here to help.

Many years ago the 1400 had a reputation as a single shot... lol (sorry)

Assuming it was working fine when last used... Most likely the rotary bolt locking lugs are seized up in the locking lugs - from dried out lubricant or rust... hopefully the first... it's been a long time since I had one apart but removing the trigger guard assembly would be the first step. get some penetrating lube into the lug recesses... or it's a piston problem in the tube...

The 1200 was no better.......put one in the chamber and two in the mag tube and you'd get a double feed jam every time.
