Win. 1894 in 38-55 parts help ???

I just pick up a Win. 1894 in 38-55 cal. carbine . Was made in 1906 . Look like it was in the back of the set of a pick up truck for 40 years. Would any one know what spare parts would be good to have around for this gun. Tanks for any info.
 
I too have a 1894 Winchester lever gun. 38-55, made in 1906 as well.
When I got mine, I couldn't load through the loading gate, the lifter wouldn't go down enough. Traced it down to wear in the slot of the lifter, built it up with a bit of Tig weld, now able to use the loading gate. So, if you can find an "as new" lifter that might be worth having. Any original (surviving) springs or screws might be worth having too (never know when they might go).
Mine had a badly pitted bore, I made a barrel liner, bored out the original rifling and "glued in" the liner, preserving the original Winchester markings (a job not for the faint of heart) (have my own lathe, mill etc.).
I've also added fold down aperture rear sights for it.
I'd really like to find original Lyman / Ideal combination bullet molds / reloading tools for it.
 
I'd dissassemble it, clean/polish and reblue. You might find some damaged parts needing replacement at that time, order from homestead as per above.
 
Most 1894 rifles and carbines I have owned have needed nothing. They were designed and built to stand up and in my experience have pretty well outside of obvious abuse.
 
My grandpa's 1894 wouldn't load through the loading gate unless the action was partially open. Turned out to be the carrier spring .I bought 2 in Montana for $6 each back when it was legal to do so.
 
Thanks every one for the info . Carrier spring sounds good plus a few other small parts .
Now to find out why there are 2 different size brass ???. Witch one would be good for 38-55 made in 1906 .

Best to slug your bore , 38-55 bores can vary quite a bit - anywhere from .375 to .382" I've read. I'm using the longer Starline brass and a .377 bullet (in a .375" bore) I tried .380 bullets but they bulged the cases.
