I am looking at purchasing a winchester 1895 in 35 w.c.f dom 1903 and I am wondering how hard it is to find ammo for it. A friend of mine has it and it is his wifes families that has been pasted down for years but she wants to sell it. It is in amazing shape.

How hard is it to find 35 w.c.f and what would be a good price to offer for it?

Sorry I dont have any pictures of it right now. I am working on that also he is getting the serial number for me.

A standard 95 rifle with no special order features would probably start at around $600, that is for pretty much a grey gun. The value would increase substantially as the remaining finish on the rifle increases. One with 90% plus finish would probably fetch close to $3000, maybe more. Deluxe or checkered stocks, factory receiver sights, shotgun butt, non standard barrel length(should be 24 in.) all would add to the value for a collector. Hard to say more without pictures, one man's "amazing shape" is another man's fair condition.

Ellwood Epps still lists .35 Win on their website. It will no doubt be expensive. Five bucks a round, maybe?
If I were in your boots, I would HAVE to buy that rifle, and handload for it. I lust greatly for a .35 Winchester.
I agree with the pricing, but what is "amazing" to some is "good" to others. I'm sure you can come to a fair agreement with your friends. I'd offer a grand to start. They might be very happy to see it go to a friend.

Ya I called epps they said it has been backordered for over a year because of some permits and it would be atleast another 3 months before they got anything. They didnt know a price until they received the shipment and they said its a hard round to find. I cant find anything for reloads so I think I may pass on the gun. It would be a great rifle to collect but I like to atleast have the option of shooting it.
