Evening,
I have a Winchester Model 94 30-30 with a 348**** serial number which I believe was made in 1971.
Recently I noticed the lever safety was no longer engaging and upon disassembly i discovered that the forked flat spring had broken. The left side leaf had separated and was just lying beneath the trigger stop. So need a new one of those.
I can't find a flat style spring anywhere. The places that did list them on their websites all show them as discontinued or out of stock. I ordered what I thought was a replacement as shown in the top of the picture below but its much too short. Is there a trick to making this work? Or do I just have the incorrect part? There are no screws to match the loops in the wire spring on my rifle.
I have another 94 and it also has the flat leaf style spring.
I'd be grateful for your advice or assistance. I used to be able to include pics directly onto a post but I'm struggling to make that work.
