what your take on the winchester defender ? Is it effective as a hunting shotgun?

I'm sure it would work, but does it have a pistol grip? If so why get that as opposed to something with a proper buttstock?

Mine as the wooden stock on it. Works good for dogging deer in the bush using 00 buckshot.

actually, i dont have one yet....I don't own any shotguns and i figure its a must in every hunters collection. I am a victim of BRD (black rifle disease) so this shootgun is quite appealing to me.... it has an 18" barrel and comes with both pistol grip and regular buttstock... i'd figure it would be a great short shotgun to carry around in the dense bush. i'm also looking at the REMINGTON 870 EXPRESS SYNT.

any advice?
