Canadian Tire is discontinuing/discounting their existing retail onhand stocks of
Winchester Dynapoint GT .22LR in 500 rd bulk packs (Winchester DYNA22LRD).
Pricing at a Halifax store I checked was $33.xx plus applicable taxes.

This is the product in the Black with Red/Gold/white lettering.

Shelf tag is orange, box has green tape wrap to designate clearance.

Last time this product was around this retail price was in 2014.

As far as I know this is a national-level initiative.

Cool. Thanks. There is only 1 left semi-locally. Would cost me more in fuel than the savings from buying anything else closer. But, with your link, it shows up. If I re-open the CT tab and search it, it does not come up. Only the 22 Mag comes up. But, thank you for letting us all know. If I am in the area, however, I will probably pick it up if it is still there...

None in stock anywhere close enough to warrant the drive. We used to buy this at Walmart for under $40/brick, taxes included. May have even been closer to $30 at one point before the change in our dollar. Shame they reconfigured their ammo offering.

Also, just in time for the annual varmint season .22lr buyouts. In another month or so around here, you'll only be able to find golden bullets.

I wandered around CT's web site a bit. Several stores around Calgary, AB have significant stocks.

I didn't perform an exhaustive search.

Funny you say that. A week ago I was looking for a 2-pack of T8 Flourescent light bulbs. One store showed 20 pairs, and another showed 21. Neither store could find any. And to stay on topic, I was recently again at both stores looking for a specific ammunition they both show as in stock, 4 at one of them, 10 at another, and guess what. No stock in either store..... I find this wierd as once I was updating my app on my phone as I was checking out with ammunition, and it updated immediately. It would appear that their 'bean counters' were having a bad day, or forgot how to count......

Lots at the macleod/southland store but NOT on sale. None of the .22 is decent price, but there is a fair amount.

So apparently it isn't a national initiative.
Interesting, since the CT web site thru normal means has dropped the product.

I just rechecked the CT web site using "normal" search.

It's back at the usual price.

Stealth unannounced sale price?
The boxes and the shelf tag were definitely special markings. The sale price came up when the sales associate
scanned it with his portable scanner on Friday 29-Dec-2017.

Curiouser and curiouser...

Not surprising - went through this exact scenario in my city last year. There are three CT locations around here; one had some .22LR on clearance at $5/box and the other two locations wouldn't sell at the clearance price from the other location (with receipt). Over a year later, one of the other two locations now has the same ammo on clearance for around the same discounted price.

Also interesting, at one point the website listed a large amount of stock (600+ boxes) but the sales associates were telling us they didn't have any. It wouldn't surprise me if savvy associate(s) had set that product aside for themselves to purchase on payday.

Looking at the price, $46.19, I wouldn't even look at it. I really am having better luck with the Federal AutoMatch, and the American Eagle hollow point. The great thing is they both have the same point of aim and impact in all three of my rim fires. I did find it for $24.99/325 rather than the $30.49 that Canadian Tire is selling it at.

As independantly owned stores, they can each have their own specials. Here online, I have found 'in store only' sales listed online. If I look at other stores online or switch preffered store, teh sale does not apply. Once even, I seen a in store only ad, so stopped in at the store directly on my way home from work. They said they would not match the advertised price as it was a store specific sale. So, for 1/2 price of $300, I went the approximate 4 extra kilometers to save $150 on my way home from work. This was also after being asked if it would be worth it to go out of my way by tha associate! Answer is yes it would be well worth it, and it was! Extra ammo for me......
