Win target .22 rimfire misfires

I would say no. It all depends on who manufactured it. If that manufacturer often makes bad batches, then their target stuff usually suffers too. I've found CCI to have the best priming for target ammo.

Crappy Win T-22

MB. Jr. Rifle used T-22 at their Provincial Championship for many years. In 2010 the quality control got so bad that there were a lot of fail to chamber as well as numerous FTF. Now using Fed 714. Kayceel

I bought several boxes to test out what a newly acquired SR-22 liked. Of a dozen or so types of ammo tested it was the only that produced any FTFs. Grouped no better than the bulk ammo I had out as well.

Hope I'm not jumping in on the thread but I've also found that the cheap Win Wildcat stuff has lots of FTF's. Some may say "what do you expect" for the cheap loads but 20 years ago this stuff was almost on par with quite a few target 22's and rarely, if ever, failed. Now, each brick of 500 gives us at least 20 FTF's.

Agree, I just got some last week because of price from LeBaron for my S&W M41. I must say at least it does not jam but had several FTF in 50 rounds. I guess will go back to Blazers after using up stock.

I had poor luck with the Winchester T-22 stuff as well. I will certainly never buy another box. As for target ammo, I don't think I have had one dud out of ~1.5 bricks of Eley green box "Sport" ammo so far. It has also given me 1MOA performance out of one rifle and very close to that in another.

Winchester seems to have a problem with their rimfire ammo.

Earlier this year we tried two or three types of winchester 22LR as well as some 17HMR.

The 17 had a lot of cracked shells that would not extract after firing and the 22LR had dozens of FTF and Fail to feed in 4 different Ruger 10-22's.
No problems at all with federal 225's in any of these rifles.

i have actualy had nothing but good luck with those Win T-22 rounds. i have went through 2.5 of the T-22 (2500) rounds of them with verry few FTF witch was from the gun as they fired in my other .22 rifle. i have been trying to find more but one of our local can tires dont sell them anymore, but soon as i get a chance im going to buy the few packs that our 2nd CT store has left.
and they also seem to be the most reliable one that always seem to fire in my brothers norinco M93 sportsman.

All my Win stuff is at least 2 years old, but in several bricks of Wildcat, T22, 555, 333, High Velocity and any other Win .22 ammo they make but may have forgotten to name, I don't think I;ve ever had 1 FTF out of a Norinco EM332, CZ, 10/22 or Cooey 75. Wish I could say the same for Remmy stuff. And as far as accuracy goes, it's excellent.

I now use it for teaching others how to shoot. I find its not too accurate, and gives the occasional dud. Its not competition grade ammo, thats for sure.

Shot through a 50 of Winchester premium 22wm and had about 12 ftf. Federals shot every time. I can't trust win so I don't buy it anymore

I've shot thousands of rounds of T22. Never a failure to fire. The last brick was acquired in march.

I've seen FTFs happen on lots of match rifles and pistols that have had their firing pin or hammer springs shortened to decrease trigger pull.

I like the T22 offering. It's relatively inexpensive, compared to other target ammo.

Another issue that's often overlooked in target quality ammo is the handling of the cases of ammo. They should NEVER be tossed around roughly. It can cause primer material to dislodge allowing for FTF conditions. Also depending on packaging, if the bullets can touch anything they can be deformed. Lead is soft and any deformation can cause inconsistency in flight.
I know target shooters who mic the case dimensions and bullet diameters to grade them into lots of similar dimensions with the belief that it affects their scores
