Wincheater M100 .284win

Hoping someone has or had a Model 100 in 284Win and can share a starting point or other useful info to reload for it. Old man picked one up and wants to use it this season.

Never heard of a Remington model 100 other than the XP line, Sure it is not a Winchester Model 100?

I loaded for a fellow that had a Savage 99 in .284 and it shot 1/2" groups with H414/Win 760 with 140gr bullets. Mag primers with ball powder. The Win 100 has a short magazine so using too heavy a bullet will reduce your internal brass capacity to use warmer loads and still fit the magazine.

Any middle of the road load in the manuals will be safe. Proceed slowly, keep in mind these are 60 year old semi autos at this point. Springs etc are all getting weaker. - dan
