I recently picked up a Winchester 101 Field Light as my first double barrel, it’s a lovely shotgun.
My question is about chokes. I have quite the liking for Pattern Master chokes (yes they’re quite expensive compared to some other brands but I really like how they look on the end of the barrel), I have a turkey choke for my 870 Super Mag and duck, goose and turkey for my Affinity 3.5. Now this being my first double barrel I would like to know if I bought say two turkey or duck chokes would they both fit on the end of the barrels together? I have flush mount chokes for it currently, the extended chokes that I’ve seen are generally equal in circumference from thread to tip. These Pattern Master chokes have a little lip just below the porting to the tip that sticks out a 1/32nd (not a precise measurement just by eye looks to be about that) would two of them fit between the mid-rib or would they both not be able screw onto the ends of the barrels? Of course I could measure but human error exists, was wondering if any one else had already tried this and could save me the hassle. I’d like to have the option to bring it turkey or duck hunting if I wanted to and would like to stick to the choke brand I prefer (however I am open to suggestions!)
