Has anyone had a chance to look at or use one of these? They seem to be a bit cheaper than the other quality O/U's and they're made in Belgium.

IIRC they were originally made in Belgium and production was later moved to Japan. My memory is foggy on this, but I believe Miroku sold the same gun under their own name, as well.

Winchester's model 101 is a workhorse - solid and reliable. I have a trap model that I use exclusively for clay sports. Last weekend I shot approximately 490 shells through it. I have never experienced a mis-fire with the 101.

I don't know offhand what the weight difference might be between the trap model and a field model but, regardless, the 101 leans toward the heavier end of the scale in terms of weight. Handle it if you have the opportunity. Depending on the kind of hunting you typically engage in, you may wish it were a shade lighter. However, that extra weight translates into ruggedness and durability in the long run, and it helps tame the recoil on heavy or hot loads.

Personally, I love my 101. But, I use it more in situations where I won't have to carry it 25 kilometers.
