I'm getting light strikes on my bottom barrel. My old Winchester 101 has seen some use before I got my dirty #### beaters on it. Im looking to replace the firing pins and springs. I'm not finding much on Google for parts to do it myself. A good gunsmith recommendation might be the best route. I belong to Gault sportsman's club, that may help. But willing to travel in SW Ontario.

Reloads the problem? Often that is the case... firing pins don't wear out, they may break. Hammer springs may get weak.

But if your light strikes are reloads, there in lies the problem. Bass of hull concave, loose primer pocket with the primer too deep.

If it is with factory loads, new hammer springs most likely will cure it. The bottom barrel is always the problem. Sometimes you have to increase firing pin travel and length of the firing pin.

With factory loads and realoads. The 101 has seen a fair amount of use. Broken pin is the other option. Replace them no matter I figure. But hard to find parts. Don't want them stuck at the boarder for ever

Looking at the pins do the faces look lightly pinned/cratered? 1 of my 101s has this on the lower barrel firing pin face, it saw alot of use before my time as well. It's a 12g sk/sk thats been my primary walking grouse gun
