Winchester 1300 and 870 forend differences

Guy at work has a 1300 defender and wants to stick an MOE forend on it, however it's only available for 870's right now. Is anyone aware of the dimensional differences in them, and if we'll be able to actually put an 870 forend on his 1300?

I'm looking for my dremel in the garage just in case......

In case anyone was wondering I looked at a 1300 defender and a 870 side by side. The dimensions on a 1300 forend are larger in diameter, so an 870 forend would have to be opened up to fit on it. I'll see if that's the direction we're gonna go on this to see if it works.
