Have a 1300 and the bead is not ideal for shooting slugs with any accuracy. Wondering what a good option for a ghost ring or something similar. Any help appreciated.

Nice looking shotgun Tkab, I don't know whats out there off the shelf for the 1300, but an easy thing to try is a bigger brighter front bead from XS,
XS also makes a ghost ring rear sight for the 1300, you'd probably need to braze on a sight ramp for the front sight though....

You could also get an optics mount of some sort that mounts via the receiver pins or install a rail and run a ghost ring sight on the rail or an optic of your choice.

Still my all time favorite shotgun, I know you want ghost ring but your easiest option is
Drill/tap/Picatinny/micro red dot.

Such a nice pristine original defender tho, it would be kind of sad to drill the receiver and solder a front sight ramp.

What about just standard rifle sights?
I’ve done this on a few defenders:
-find a standard 22” or 24” Winchester 1200/1300/120 deer slug barrel (smooth bore with rifle sights).
-you can either keep it at 22” for a “camp defender” look, or have it cut down to 18.5”. If you cut it down you can move the front sight backward.
-move the barrel lug out to defender length.
-refinish barrel.

Then you have an 22” or 18.5” rifle sight defender, and still have your excellent condition original configuration :)
