Quick Question.. is there any difference between an older model 1300 and a newer "speedpump" 1300. I think they have the same action, but Winchester just gave the newer ones the formal name "speedpump" as an advertising ploy. Anyone know for sure? Thanks

The Winchester® Model 1300 Speed Pump™ : no other pump shotgun offers the same speed and agility. Thanks to the innovative inertia-assisted pumping of its proven rotary bolt action, the Model 1300 is capable of shooting three shots in just over a half second.

Picking up one to compliment my well worn original 1300 .... firing buckshot loads, the action opens all the way and ejects the shell if you don't hold the pump arm. The one I got to try was nearly B/N, and smooth as glass.

im pretty sure the only difference is the way the stock and reciever lines up. the 1300s had a v shape connection, where as the speed pumps have a straight connection.....just like 870s

hes talkin about the brand new shotguns that are just called speed pumps....not the 1300 speed pumps.....i could be mistaken. all internal parts will swap with any 1300 or 1200 (i have both and was bored one day)

I mean differences between 1300s and 1300 speedpumps

None. The 1300 is the 1300 defender, it came out in 1978 and has been called the 1300 "everything under the sun" since then but the innards have always been the same, and always with a "V" shaped receiver.

The only difference between different 1300's are barrel, choke, tube, stock and finish (and gauge and round/bore length I guess).

Let's see how many names people know for the 1300
Defender,
Police,
Ranger Deer.
Slug Hunter,
Marine(SS),
Black Shadow Deer Combo,

I know there's lots more just can't remember them.

Thats what I figured. It looks like the same action/internals as the older 1300's and I know the older model 120 is the same as a 1300. All these style guns are quick and smooth to operate, but I figured "speedpump" wasnt so much a change in model to make it pump faster but more of a change in name to make it sound faster lol. The "ranger compact" may be able to be operated a little faster due to its reward forend, but not all "speedpumps" are equiped like that.
