Tried out one of these recently, what a piece of crap. I know they are made in Belgium and all but holy crap was this thing junky. It would not pick the spent case out of the chamber about 3 times out of 10.:( Then you would have to snap it shut real hard to get the empty out.
I am not impressed at all with the quality and I am going to stick with the 870 Wingmaster.:)

Winchesters are made in the U.S., not Belgium. And I actually had the exact same problem with two 870 Marine Magnums. Just goes on to show how little attention is paid to quality control by many American manufacturers these days. Smith & Wesson is the only large American gun maker I can think of that still put out a quality product.

That's unfortunate. It sounds like you got a dud; kind of like the old story of not buying a car that was made on a Monday or a Friday! I've had my 1300 for about 8 years and I can't remember it ever not extracting/ejecting. There are smoother actions in the pump department out there but I trust the reliability of mine as a primary bear gun. It might be worth having a go with another one if you knew someone who owned one, just to compare.

I just purchased a 1300 so will see what issues I will have if any. But on a side note I purchased a brand new from the store Mossberg 590, after one time out it needed $ 200.00 in repairs, some of the components were defective.

I've got a 1300 that I bough new about 4 or so years ago. Have had one jam since then and never a misfire or problem ejecting before or since.

I should be getting my Model 1300 Black Shadow Deer gun this week! I will let you know how it works.

Maybe its the the NUT behind the stock thats the problem:D

j.k.

Mine is actually a 2200 an early Canidian version of the 1200 that is now the 1300. Would not trade it for anything. Has never failed me yet. The 1300's are made in New Haven untill the end of March.

Love mine. No problems well made and light. I don't treat it very well but it has never complained. Mine is made in America.
