Winchester 1400 12g

Anybody own one? How do you like it? I just bought one from a fellow CGN member last night. Took it out tonight and ran a bunch of different ammo through it- slug, buckshot and birdshot. No FTF, everything went quite smoothly. Fair bit of recoil/ muzzle jump but the barrel has been cut down to about 19".

Anyone else with 'good news' stories about their 1400's?

Also, looking for a longer barrel for bird hunting. Are they easy to find used and what other older/newer Win models have compatible barrels?

From what I understand the 140, 1400, 1500, 2400, and 2500 all work together. And the stocks from 1200 and 1300 are supposed to fit as well. Don't take that as 100% though, I haven't tried.

Used to have a 2400. It shot well with any load that had recoil. The lighter loads wouldn't cycle.

In the past I had two 1400,s and a 1500.Had trouble with all three of them.Others have had better luck.

I bought one this summer as well. Skeet barrel. Nice wood. Have put about 400 rds through it including some 1 oz loads. No FTF. happy with it

I shot mine at a CGNZ trap shoot just this monday and it can shoot better than I can.

Thanks gents. Sounds promising, now to find a full length barrel and maybe a synthetic stock...

Rear stocks are the same as 1200/1300, fore stocks are different. I believe Ram-Line makes synthetics for the 1400.
