Winchester 1400 barrel

I was asked too store a shot gun for a friend .. it is a Winchester pump and appears too be a 1300 model .. But it has a rib barrel with screw in chock and the barrel is marked Winchester model 1400 ,, Can this be a screw up from the factory .. I did not think a 1400 barrel would fit a 1300

They interchange but the gas ports will dirty the mag tube on the pump.

so can you put a fully rifled 1300 barrel on a 1400 and have a semi slug gun then ,,, Never heard of any one doing this

Not quite, a barrel from a 1200 120 or 1300 does not have gas ports and will not operate the model 1400. It will be a single shot that you have to hand drive. A barrel from a 1400 will work on all pumps 1200 1300 120 etc. but the ports will blow gas residue all over the mag tube. So they do interchange but the pump barrel will not operate the semi and the semi barrel will dirty the pump.
