I tried the A17 in my current Cooper. About 1 out of every four cases ruptured where the firing pin struck them. and they shot around 1-1/2" at 100 m. The CCI 17gr v-max loads don't suffer any ruptures, and they average around 3/4" at 100 m for five shots. The Hornady loads were the least accurate in my rifle.

hum, they say the A17 is made by CCI for the savage 17 rifles... I'll see what they do in my savage. 1inch and a half is not that bad at 100 yards, I didn't expect to do better than that. Thought since it was CCI it would be good to go.

They may or may not shoot that well in your rifle, I won't use them because of the case ruptures.

I ran some over a chronograph and they were well into the 2700fps in my gun. Cci lists them at 2650. The regular 17gr hornady also runs about 50-70fps faster then on the box.
Best in my 452 varmint #1 is the old CCI v max with the picture of the gopher with the army helmet on. ( have one box left, and won't use it lol ). #2 is CCI TNT. Shoots very good, rips huge voids in gophers.

Have you tried the federal tnt? I found that to be more violent then the cci tnt not sure why but both are very exciting.
did it shoot well in your rifle without issue ?
blows stuff up haha made me laugh, I only shoot paper at the moment anyway but probably will try and find gophers
You should!!! You don't know what you are missing lol. Let them stand tall, and hit center mass or a hair lower.

The a17 all went bang, no fail to extract or eject, no spits in the case or blown rims just not that accurate.
