yeah he wasn't too happy to hear how much it was worth from a few other people. he paid 350 for it brand new from lever arms in 1977

An ounce of gold was worth $122.90, on July 1st 1976.
He could have bought 2.8 Ounces.

An ounce of gold today is worth ~$1700
The current value would be ~$4800

If he has chosen to buy silver, it was about $5 an ounce in 1976. So he could have purchased about 70 ounces.
At the current price of ~$34 an ounce, his investment would be worth $2380

He has every right to be upset.
His $350 1976 dollars would be the equivalent of $1349.21 today.

So he just went through the effort of storing and caring for a gun for 36 years, so he could lose over half of its value.

that's exactly why he was upset if he had known back then he would have either used the gun when he was into firearms or bought something else that he wouldn't be scared to scratch

so anyone want it for $1349.22?
