Winchester 1886 Deluxe

Try finding your closest full line Browning/Winchester dealer and ask them to place an order, plan to wait a while before you get it but now is the time to ask as orders will begin going in soon. Maybe try Epps or some of the other sponsors.

Anyone know where I can purchase a Winchester 1886 Deluxe in 45-70 in Canada? I want to avoid importing one from the US but it looks like my only option.

A real Winchester or a Miroku?
The Miroku model 1886s have the rebounding hammer and tang safety.
If you can find a Browning 1886 they have the original configuration with the half #### safety.
The original Winchesters and the Brownings in good condition are scarce and expensive.
Saw a Miroku Winchester 1886 Extra Light with the 22" barrel in 45-70 at Epps a couple of years ago.
Lighter than the full sized models at around 7 pounds.
When I saw the $1200 price tag I handed it back to the clerk.

I suspect you'd be looking at a 2k price tag now most places.

People love to hack on the new Japanese Winchesters, and I cannot understand why. Those new guns are the best firearms ever stamped winchester. The fit and finish is excellent.

The Browning 1886s discontinued in the 1980s were also made by Miroku of Japan but with the original half #### configuration.
The best of both worlds but as rare as chickens teeth.

I have a new production 1886 by Miroku and in my opinion, the fit and finish is spectacular. These are premium priced for a reason, they are well machined and hand fit. Being in manufacturing myself I can appreciate the work and effort put in to these. Not many guns will compare it this price range.

Never had a problem with the rebounding hammer and do not even use or notice the safety. The combination basically works as an automatic half #### if you think about it.

I've listed it on the EE but had a very quick change of heart because I knew I regret selling it! Those 150th anniversary ones make my mouth water.

I was reviewing the 2016 shot show highlights, the Winchester 1886 was one of them. Thanks to all I have been messaged with a line on one. I'll post some gun #### for all when I get one.

The rebounding hammer "fix" is well documented, and very easy to do, if desired. It shouldn't discourage anyone that wants to buy one in that configuration.

If one wants a new 1886 then the Pedersoli is a great option as well. Better wood, great fit & finish along with match grade barrel. I may have to add one of these to go along with my Pedersoli 86/71.;)

Oh yeah, the best part is there ain't any "legal beagle" crap stamped on the barrel & no BS safety mods.

True to the original and better built. Only wish they would bring back the .33 Winchester in this puppy.:dancingbanana:

I love my 1886 Deluxe Case Hardened. It's one of the new Winchesters. Ellwood Epps brought in 6 or 8 of them, I think. They sold in a few hours.

Ah, I don't mind the safety. The fit and finish is superb. It is quite heavy though. I haven't even cleaned the grease out of the barrel yet.

The rebounding hammer and tang safety are both non-issues. I have 2 Miroku Winchester 1892's in .44 mag. Neither one has ever failed to go bang with various ammo. It's a bit heavier to #### because of the springs but it lightened up over time. Hundreds of rounds, nary a problem.

$1200 sure, but find me a gun in that price range that's better built.
