My Aunt's uncle passed away recently and they were cleaning out his house and came across this:

The serial # is 614159, its in bad shape, lots of rust but works, wanted to know if it's worth anything if I fix it up.

Thanks

Whether it's worth big $$$$ not, that is a cool piece of history!!! I know I'd hang onto something that old....

Thanks for sharing

Caliber? They came in .22 Short, .22 Long & .22 Long Rifle each, the later model 1906 cycled and shot all three.

By looking at the pics you provided , I can see that it has the takedown screw and the later style exposed locking bolt . This makes it a third model 1890 . Your serial # provided indicates that it was manufactured in 1919 . Great find ! How's the bore look ? Is it a .22 short , long , LR or .22 WRF ? I've got five of these little beauties and they are a simple but very high quality rifle . A blast to shoot [ I usually use a standard velocity round or a sub-sonic depending on the shape of the rifle ] . Hope this helps .

The 1890 was made with a carrier specific to the round it was chambered for [i.e : the long carrier will not work properly with the .22 short or LR] If someone had happened to put in a carrier out of a 1906 [ common mod ] , then you could shoot both the .22 short and the .22 long out of your rifle but not the .22 LR as it is slightly longer than the .22 Long . Hope this helps .
