I am having a problem with my 1892 follower. The follower is sticking out of the magazine into the receiver and binding on the carrier so it doesn't cycle. I have tried two different followers and they both do it. I thought that changing the cartridge stop spring would fix it but it didn't. Either I don't have enough bend in the new spring or that's not the problem. Any thoughts or advise would be greatly appreciated as usual. Thanks and have a good one Jed

Check magazine tube and follower

Jed,

The magazine follower should stop on the shoulder of the follower hitting the receiver. Are the cartridges doing the same or do they cycle normally ?

If the rounds cycle normally are you sure it is the correct follower for this gun ? Correct caliber follower ?

Inside your receiver, on the left side, is the magazine stop. It should stop the follower from sticking out too far. The flat spring behind the stop may be broken, or the follower may just be gummed up, or worn.
Shown in the pic below, you can see it. I opened the action just enough that the lifter hasn't risen, so you could see the bottom corner of the magazine stop holding back the magazine plug.
