Hello Everyone.

I have had a number of guns over the years. I just happened to pickup 5 old rifles from a guy I work with for a reasonable price. Among them is a win 92 in 44 WCF (44-40) upon lookup of the serial number it was manufactured in 1903. The action was very tight and looked like it had not been cleaned for the past 50 years. I got it all apart and found the firing pin is broken. Any idea where I can pick up a new one? I am also in need of the screws that hold the piece of steel in the front of the forearm in place. The other thing I have found is the bolt is very difficult to slide... not bad with the lever in place, but when reassembling it was very difficult. It is better to operate after being cleaned, but still stiffer than it should be.

I had a Rossi 92 in 357 before it was much smoother, mind you it wasn’t 118 years old.

Any help of suggestions on parts would be appreciated.

Wisners's will have the parts you need. Not sure about the bolt? It should slide very easily. Maybe a complete disassembly and check the rails for peening or other damage? If the bolt slides freely there, then it could be an assembly issue, or parts/screws interference.

The firing pin on my '92 was broken so I ordered from Numrich. The quote was about 1/4 what Western wanted (even with exchange) and delivery from the US was about 10 days (Western said it would take at least 2 weeks.

I don't know if they still deliver to Canada. My order was about 2 years ago.
