Finally got to the range with it. I ended up ordering it off Gunbroker because I couldn't find one in Canada. I had Prophet River import it me for a good cost. Well worth the cost and two months it took.

This thing is very nice, made by Miroku Japan. I think my Browning 22 is made there too, it's also very nice. Action is very slick, metal and wood fit and finish are top notch. The wood has a very nice grain.

I first sighted it in at 50 yards, and only had to move the elevator down one click to get the American Eagle .357 JSP on target. My third group off a rest had two shots in the ten ring and one up and to the right in the seven. I then shot two ten shot groups (magazine capactiy) off hand at the same distance and got all ten shots on each 8x11 paper with eight out of ten shots in the target rings.

Very impressed and happy, especially considering my last .357 lever gun was a new Marlin. :puke:

Fantastic and good for you for finding an alternate source.
I wanted one as well but was impossible to find.
I did manage to get a hold of a 1892 Trapper Takedown .357.
It's on it's way...maybe early next month.

Hey...I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!

Is the hammer a rebounding type hammer or is there a half #### position?
I wonder what it would cost a guy to buy and import one of these in to Canada?

IMO, Miroku's versions of the Winchester line of Leverguns have far better fit and finish than anything produced on this continent at least since the debacle of 1964, and quite likely before that as well. They really are beautiful firearms.

The version I have had for years is one of the Japanese made Browning .357s. Very nicely made rifle.

I have the big brother to that rifle, the 1886 Short Rifle and am also very happy with the fit and finish. I'm okay with the safety but could do without the rebounding hammer, though.
