Winchester 1892 value

I have a winchester 1892 that I have had sitting in the safe for a few years now. It was a coworkers fathers . He used it his whole career while he was a bush pilot. My coworker owed me some money and did not have a PAL when his father passed so I ended up with the rifle.
Here are the details.

Wincher 1892
44 wcf 44-40
It shoots and functions great
SN 601### which put the Manfacuture date in 1911
Saddle ring
20 inch barrel curved but stock.
The bluing is almost all gone but has a nice patina with no pitting
The rifling looks good for how old it is
See there selling on the net for anywhere from 900 to 5000$ I don't want to get ripped off or rip off anyone if I sell it.

Always said I would never post a what its worth thread but here I am .

Well my humble opinion...........iff'in you fair more on the selling of this old gal than the I.O.U.,
ahhh gooder lad would split the $$$ back to the indeptith chap.
After all, it was his father's passing that paid the depth.

i'm thinking your on the right track, surely the i.o.u. wasn't more then 500 bucks.
 
Nope it was about a 1000$ I would defantly make it it worth his while as well he is still a good buddy. He has one daughter that is anti gun and didnt want anything to do with it . Him and i still enjoy a good bottle of rum togeather . I will defanatly make it a good deal for both of us he just went through a divorce and is down in the dumps and figure if I could sell it and get a new camera lens for him it would cheer him up. He is a huge photographer geek .
