I've run across one of these, a Winchester 1894 30/30 R.C.M.P marking the Centennial in 1973, a friend has but he doesn't seem willing to let it go. I've seen others for sale in the States and even England, but none here.

Are they that difficult to get ahold of. Any thoughts on the going price... it seems to vary widely.

these are not hard to come by, RCMP serial Numbers are more numerous than MP serial numbers as the MP numbers were issued to members, the RCMP numbers were for the general public. $750 or a bit more depending on the condition of the box for the RCMP and more for the MP. That's what I have seen them go for recently. Unfired of course in box with papers.

I have read that this type is just about the only type of commemorative type rifle that winchester made that are really worth anything, all other are just really nice looking shooters.

My father has one he bought in 1973 as a member and it will be some day passed on down in the family but I have been looking for a RCMP serial NO version so I can take it to the range as I don't fell that that version have any real collection value to them like the ones purchased and owned by members.

The Winchester Collector's site(Stateside) says, "MEMBERS MODEL 5100 mfg", $1800
US. Serial number starts with 'MP', STANDARD MODEL 10442 mfg", $895US. Serial number starts with 'RCMP'. They're only worth this kind of money if they're sealed in the original box.
None of the Winchester Commemoratives have been a great investment.

I was able to dig this up as well....

"The '66 centennial rifle or carbine if unfired are around $650.

The RCMP rifle will have RCMP preceding the serial number up to 10442 and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Member Issue will have MP preceding the serial number up to 5100. They are valued the same, about $900 apiece."

Thanks for all the input.
