I have two Winchester 94's, one a short/carbine/saddle version an the other an older/more beat up standard long barrel version. The shorty kicks too much for target shooting/plinking, an the long one is more nicer but sadly it's just some beater we got when we bought some land an it came with the house on that land.

The wood stock is badly cracked an a chunk is missing, the foresight is missing it's "cover/guard" an the action is very loose, the pins are obviously gone. It shoots straight so I would like to fix it up.

Besides a stock kit which is not much, where can I find one of these "rebuild kits" for it. They usually include the stocks (synthetic or wood) an a bunch of pins, screws, an sometimes new sights. In Alberta, preferably near the Edmonton area.

Western Gun Parts in Edmonton stock both used and new parts for most leverguns. Never seen a "rebuild kit" but if you ask for a parts diagram for your kicker you can make up a list of the parts you need including most screws as they are usually fairly Bubba'd. Sights front and rear tend to be common and any gunsmith has boxes of used stuff they have swapped out for better sights.
Or you could get some nice new Marbles sights that really work and are easy on the eyes. Marbles still makes "heritage" sights. Suggest you have a looksee at their site. Some really cool stuff. Im looking to replace the crappy factory sights on my Marlin 336 with much better sights or just go with a tang sight.

Thanks a bunch, I did not check out western yet, still working out what year exactly the thing is, it's so old that they did not put serial numbers on it, watching some youtube videos to help me out find out exactly what it is. Looks Pre WW2 for sure.

For you it may be best to drop by if they are not too far away or at least take some decent pics and send it. Might also be an idea to send pics to the Bill Cody Museum and let them have a looksee. I would also post pics on a forum and let some of the collectors have a look. You will have much more knowledge shortly. Lots of levergun collectors on this site.

I thought at one time Brownell's sold a "screw package" for the more popular rifles. Might be worth a look-see on their website.
I don't remember too many of the Pre-64 long barrel rifles having a front sight hood, nor the original SRC's for that matter.

O, well that might explain some things, I just assumed it had a cover, maybe it never did have one
