I have a new in the box Winchester 1894 M94 sporter round/octagon 24 inch in 38-55. Miroku run that was done about 7 years ago. I know the rifles were around that $1500 mark new. This one though is 00001 of the production run and serial is that so first one off the line. Just wondering what this adds to a possible collector in value if any ??? Thoughts on it or comments would be helpful. Thanks

Not sure on collector value, but ye have a well made 94 that would be nice to own & use. Being the first one out the gate though can add a fair bit of value if it ain't been used & ye have the box & paperwork .

Might have to wait 20yrs to find that out.

Funny but likely true lol. Admittedly, there are others more familiar with this market than I am, but owning several Mirokus myself what I’ve noticed are two interesting thing about Winchesters (well, maybe 3 things):

1. Almost everyone wants a pre ‘64 Model 94. WRA changed up materials in their manufacturing process to reduce costs.
2. Strangely, for the same price you can generally get a brand new edition; that is, a “vintage” 1892 say will not sell for more than a new Miroku unless there’s some serious provenance behind it. I suppose this speaks to older GC Winchester’s in that they keep up with ‘inflation’ - so your Miroku shoudn’t loose value over time, BNIB/00001 or otherwise.

I’ve got two 94s in the safe, one Miroku and an original pre 64. The Miroku costed more; but I find I shoot the pre 64 more often. I think currently listed prices for em should be a good gauge for what you might get for yours.

Cheers.

I don't know how that would affect value now. But I'm positive it won't hurt the value in its future. I'd put that one in a vault
