I wonder if anyone here has a Winchester 1894 reloading tool for 30 WCF (aka 30-30)?

I have a tool without the decapping pin, and I'm looking for the measurements of the pin itself, so I can just make my own.

Haven't been able to find the info through Google yet. Lots of other useless info, or measurements for stuff other than the 30 WCF.

Failing getting the actual measurements, I'll end up making one through trial and error I suppose. Just thought it would be quicker and easier if I had the measurements from a pin someone already has, that actually works properly.

Funny enough, it would likely be faster and easier to deprime the cases by making a base to hold the casing, and a pin to just strike with a hammer. However, my understanding of this reloader is that it will deprime and resize the case in one shot, if the pin is correct.

I can not be much help about the dimensions of the decapping pin - but a question about the thing - does it neck size or full length size the case body? Just a wild guess idea, but not much wrong with the decapper struck with a hammer - is how I do all my centre-fire rifle reloading - it is not fast, though!!! I use a de-capping pin that came in a Lee Loader tool for 22-250 - I have made my own seat/base for belted magnum cases. I had read that some makers use different diameter flash holes on some brass - otherwise I think there is a Large and a Small flash hole size. I would think the 30 WCF might use the standard Large flash hole size, but some brass makers might have different idea about that.

A good link, BlackPowderBurner - it appears that the tool in the ad came with two bodies to it - and it appears to have a bar or rod on the rear - so what the OP has shown is either not complete, or a different item. My own reloading for 30 W.C.F. (30-30) has been more conventional - a Lee Pacesetter Die set using a Lee Shell holder on an older RCBS RockChucker press. I think we last did up a batch of 20 x 30-30 rounds with that - they have not been fired yet, that I know of.

The rounds that we made were either full length sized or new W-W brass, so they should fit into most any chamber. We set the bullet seating depth to the chamber that is in a 1955 Win Model 94 rifle here, although I think the rounds were going to be fired in some sort of single shot, bolt action rifle.

Yes it full length sizes, the first tool widely available to do so. The release coincided with the newly available high pressure smokeless rounds like 30 WCF. OP the original Winchester instructions describe decapping as a separate step. You can read more here:

Thanks for that link!

Here I thought the decapping could be done while resizing, all in one shot, with the right pin.

I was able to locate a photo of a Winchester 1894 reloading tool I have. It's in 38-55 and not 30 WCF. The 38-55 is the parent case. If you enlarge the photo you'll see the decapping tool in a small box with some other pieces.

Here's a photo that may help. Keep in mind it's for 38-55 and the decapping pin will have a larger diameter that 30 WCF but the shape and length measurements should be the same.
