Winchester 1894 year of manufacture

I'm just looking for some confirmation on the year of manufacture for a Winchester 1894 serial # 1508###

winchestercollector.org shows me 1948

oldguns.net shows 1949

I had some notes written down from previous searching that 1948 began with serial number 1500000 and 1949 began with 1626100, but I can't recall where I found that. However, winchestercollector site doesn't agree with the 1949 starting serial number of 1626100

For what it's worth, I'm actually looking for a 1948 manufactured model 94. So I'm curious who's info would be correct, and whether or not this rifle was actually manufactured in 1948.

I suspect the Winchester collector site has the most accurate data. There were errors in previous research that make some charts inaccurate, especially for older dates. Also, when looking at printed charts, the serial number specified for a given year is the last number made in that year, not the first.

Maybe I had written my notes down as such that the 1948 beginnings were just the end from 1947. I honestly can't recall, I just had the note hanging by the computer for a regular reminder in case I came across a rifle in that range.

Winchester Collector site is the one to go with. A lot of faulty information in some of the older printed sources as well. Madis Winchester book though a good book has many errors which have since been discovered. Your 94 is probably a flat band in that serial range.
