I am waiting on the pictures and or the box with the shotgun in it, but anyone have any good info on the winchester 1901 10 gauge lever action shotgun? I haven't really got any idea as to value of such a beast and don't even know where to start with the offers. The fine gentleman who owns it is the original owner and has put less then 2 boxes of ammo through it, how it has been stored and how it has been handled is yet to be seen, any foresight would be appreciated

Great well made guns. Be careful though since it is a short 10 which means reloading since you cant buy them today at the local outdoor store.
A few years ago you could get 2000-2500 for excellent condition. Now i have no idea.

Mine is a 1907 or 1908. Fun gun to shoot.

I have 3 currently. I bought 2 of them together for $2k. I believe one was made in 1903 and the other in 1907, with the 1903 being in a little rougher condition. The 3rd one I own is also a 1907 build, but it currently has a small dent in the barrel.

The 1907 one is actually my go-to shotgun for around the farm. I like the feel of these old suckers, it still cycles nicely and gives me some decent reach to take down birds.

I personally wouldn't hesitate to buy another, if the price and condition were right.

I do all my own reloading by hand, no press. It's not that bad, considering I don't use that many shells in a month.
