Hey guys...not sure where to post this question, but I'll try here. Do any of you own/shoot/hunt with either one of these rifles? I've owned one of each for decades, inherited from my grandfather. I have a small quantity of ammo for both, and until now...had considered keeping both of them until I could see whether or not any of my kids might want them once they're old enough. (the kids, not the guns :) ) I suppose my question is this~are these considered desirable from a collectors POV? Ammo is nearly impossible to find, but from what I've heard about my grandfather...these would have been hunting guns or he wouldn't have owned them.

I've had the 1903 (.22 Winchester Auto) out a few times, but the difficulty (and expense) of getting replacement ammo. for it limits that activity. As an aside, I was told these were a "matching pair" of guns when I received them and indeed, in ways..I suppose they are. With time, I'm becoming less...not more nostalgic, so I'm thinking I might move these.

Since Winchester 1907s actually saw some military service, this might have belonged in a different forum...but here we are.

Keep or sell?

My father, and uncle have taken more deer than I can recall, both using a 1907 in 351 Win... I remember my uncle taking 7 deer with 9 shots on a short drive with his .351, when I was just a young fella tagging along on hunts...

I have taken a few deer with both the 1907, and 1910...

1907's generally demand about $400-odd in decent shape. Model 03's are worth a bit more, usually. And ammo sweetens the deal when selling OR buying.
New .351 ammo is not generally available, but the .22 WRF is made by CCI and IIRC is cheaper than .22 WMR.

The '03 is .22 Winchester Auto, it's own animal. :) I did pick some up at the Old Western Scrounger in the US a LONG time ago, still have a fair amount of it.

BTW, not hard-up...just short on room in the gun safe...especially for guns (I think) I'll never shoot.
