Winchester 30-30 Lever Sights ?

Howdy fella's,

Just looking for some info and your feed back. I've been wanting a lever action 30-30 for a while now and I came across one at the local outdoors store.

It's a late 40's 30-30 Winchester and looks in rather good shape. seems to have a newer recoil pad installed on the butt stock.

Main issue is it seems to be missing a part from the rear Sight.

What I am wondering about itis:

A) Whats the Winchester worth?

B) How hard are sights to find? What would they cost and where ?

According to some,you should not even need a sight,as they,as all 30-30s will shoot for themselves.Wait a bit,the experts will show up,we are sure.
 
It has been messed with ie recoil pad.
What part for the sight is missing? Ball park $300 without more details or pics.
 
Yes, I agree with the Iceman. Missing sight parts and a non-original butt pad make it just a plain old shooter. Sights are easy to come by. Check with Epps if you need anything like this. I'd pay around $300-350 if it was in really nice shape otherwise. Maybe look for a nice side eject Marlin if you want to ever scope the thing. ;)
 
Rear sight missing parts?
Maybe the elevator?
The slide domahhahickey.
They should be easy enough to find at
a gun show.
Or peep it up a notch.
