Winchester .308 Lever Action

Hi Everyone,

would anyone happen to know the price range of a .308 Winchester lever action? My neighbor has one to sell, it has been obviously used with and has a sight on it. Unfortunately I'm too new to include a picture.

Any insight would be much appreciated - Thanks!
 
I assume you're talking about a Winchester 88? There's a difference between pre and post '64, with the pre '64's carrying a premium of a couple of hundred bucks. Actual value depends on condition.

Pre '64 will have cut checkering, post '64 pressed checkering with some weird oak leaf arrangement.
 
I bought one for roughly $600 about 10 years ago. It was made in 1955 and has the clover leaf recoil lug. It wasn’t pleasant to shoot until I put a soft butt pad on it (I don’t plan to sell it - ever). It’s wearing a VX III 1.5-5 and it’s lovely ... in every way.
