Winchester .308 pre 64

My uncle has a Lever action Winchester .308, he thought model 77 or 99. He has 2 exta clips, and it has a 3x9 scope, gun case, and 'accessories' and is asking a price that seems a little low. Does anyone know the vaule range of this style of rifle? The model number seems to be throwing me off but I figure you guys are gun nutz and should know better than googled sites. He figured it was bought around 1960 if that helps.

Win88

I think that would be a Winchester mod. 88. They seem to be asking anywhere from $400 to $600 or so from what I've seen. Condition matters for top dollar.

It will be a 88, and the value will depend greatly on condition. The accessories won't really be worth much, but the rifle is in the $300 to 600 range depending on it's condition. Unfortunately for your uncle, the 308 was the most common caliber that the 88 came in. - dan
